FAQs
How much does a session cost?
The cost of a 50-minute consultation is $220.00, which is within the recommended fee range for a Clinical Psychologist, according to the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2023-24. If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP, you are eligible for a rebate of $141.85. The gap fee (out-of-pocket expense) for MHTP sessions is $78.15. You may receive up to ten sessions under a MHTP each year. Please note that more complex mental health issues may take longer than ten sessions to resolve. The full fee must be paid at the end of each session, and your Medicare rebate can be processed immediately if you bring your Medicare card with you.
How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
Your GP can provide you with a MHTP. You may need to book a longer appointment with your GP, so they can do an assessment of your mental health, and discuss your particular needs.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please provide 48 hours notice if you cannot attend an appointment. Late cancellations will incur a charge of half the session fee ($110.00) which must be settled before the next session is booked.
How do I book an appointment?
Simply contact me via the form below, by email or by telephone, and I will book you in for an appointment. At the end of each session, you can decide whether you need more appointments, and they will be booked in then.
What days and times are available for sessions?
I work Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and every second Thursday at Mind in Bloom in Berwick. Appointments are available between 10am and 6pm.
Is telehealth available?
Yes, telehealth sessions are available, and you can switch to a telehealth session at late notice if you wish.
Do I need to do anything before my first session?
Before the first session you will be sent a Registration Form, Privacy & Consent Form, and a short Intake Form, where you can describe what you would like help with. You will also be sent two short outcome measures (the DASS-21 and K10) from NovoPsych. This information is collected prior to your first session to save valuable therapy time.
Is your office wheelchair accessible?
Mind in Bloom Psychology is located within the Tonic Tree Multidisciplinary Clinic which is up a short flight of stairs. Unfortunately there is no alternative entry into the clinic.
